Kevin West

Kevin is a founding partner of ADVENT. His practice focuses on the procurement and protection of U.S. and foreign Intellectual Property rights. He is a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Intellectual Property American Inn of Court and attends meetings regularly. This allows Kevin keep abreast of latest developments in Intellectual Property law with some of the top IP attorneys in the country.
Kevin has over 20 years of experience protecting the intellectual property rights of his clients. Prior to founding ADVENT, Kevin served as chief intellectual property counsel for Garmin International in Olathe, Kansas, and was a partner in an intellectual property law firm in Omaha. Prior to practicing law, he worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri. This experience gives Kevin a unique perspective as an intellectual property attorney when working with in-house counsel and engineers.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys cooking, traveling, and sailing. He and his wife, Kristen, have four children, James, Sarah, Katie, and Monica.
