At Advent, we are very selective with our hiring because we try to find individuals who are interested in being part of our business family and who are interested in a long term career. Our systems are set up to help attorneys grow their practice and to be rewarded for their productivity. We do not have hourly goals and we typically do not measure compensation by the hourly model. At Advent, we compensate our attorneys on the value that they provide to the team. Such a system allows each attorney to tailor their practice for their own life goals.
What Our Team is Saying
“Advent has provided me the opportunity to build my practice in line with my preferences, talents, and interests, while encouraging growth in my practice. In my experience, the people and systems at Advent foster a positive atmosphere for growth, both professionally and personally, such as by providing flexibility with home life (a luxury with having a young family), providing travel opportunities (to visit clients, attend CLES, etc.), and open lines of communication to provide feedback regarding the firm, our clients, or whatever may be on our mind.”
Dan Honz – Patent Attorney since 2008
“Providing quality service to our clients is a top priority of mine. It is refreshing to work in an environment where that priority is supported. Advent’s model allows me to focus on the quality of my work product while fairly compensating me for that product. This support is a source of great job satisfaction and why Advent has been an exceptional employer.
I also appreciate the direct client communication that Advent encourages. The collaborative environment fostered by the Advent model helps tremendously in providing a quality work product. I truly believe that Advent will continue to grow as a leader in both quality patent services and the professional development of its employees.”
Erik Antonson – Intellectual Property technician and agent since 2003
“Since joining Advent, I have been given the opportunity to grow in many different areas of IP, and have been given the best guidance and tools to do so. Due to the flexibility and family-friendly environment this firm has to offer, I also made the decision to finally start a family after I joined the Advent team. The support received has been wonderful and I look forward to growing with this firm.”
