Rebecca A. Bortolotti


Rebecca Bortolotti is an owner and partner of Advent, LLP, a law firm that brings innovative solutions to support the growth and development strategies of its clients. Rebecca’s practice focuses on a holistic approach to competitive insulation that maximizes the benefits and impact of research, innovation, and technology of her clients. She also brings a breadth of in-house experience to support the transactional and operational needs of her clients. A portion of her practice is dedicated to serving as outside General Counsel. Prior to joining Advent, LLP, Rebecca was vice president and Chief Technology Counsel at ConAgra Brands, Inc. (formerly ConAgra Foods, Inc.), a Fortune 500 food company. Over the nearly 10 years with ConAgra, Rebecca supported all aspects of the company strategies including: organizational redesign, technology and innovation-related matters; patent prosecution and litigation; mergers & acquisitions; divestitures; spin-outs; licensing; strategic relationships; privacy and data security initiatives; and supply chain support including manufacturing and procurement. Prior to ConAgra, Rebecca was an attorney with Merchant & Gould, PC, with a focus on complex litigation and client counseling of all matters related to intellectual property. Prior to Merchant & Gould PC, Rebecca served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lyle E. Strom, Senior U.S. District Court Judge. Rebecca is admitted to the Nebraska and Minnesota bars, is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

  • Rebecca was an adjunct professor at Creighton University School of Law, where she taught Legal Writing and Trademark Law. She was also an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching Patent Litigation.
