Intellectual Property Attorney or Agent Position

Pay is not capped. Bonuses are paid monthly based on production and are calculated using a completely transparent and objective rules-based process. Starting base pay will be commensurate with background and experience.
Qualified candidate requirements:
Demonstrable connection and desire to live in the upper Midwest (required);
Ability to work in Advent’s offices in Omaha, Nebraska (required);
Strong oral and written communication skills (required);
At least three (3) years of experience in intellectual property (preferred);
Experience with IP searching, IP analysis, and IP clearance analysis (preferred);
Curiosity to learn technologies outside of field of study (preferred);

Patent Attorney/Agent

At least three (3) years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications (preferred)
Experience with computer aided drafting/modeling programs (preferred)
Experience with patent searching, patentability analysis, clearance analysis and patent landscape analysis (preferred)
Curiosity to learn technologies outside of field of study (preferred)
Work experience in the electrical engineering field (preferred)

IP, Innovation, & Technology Attorney or Practice Group. Advent is looking for an intellectual property, innovation and technology attorney or practice group to join its growing business in Omaha, Nebraska. Advent is looking for curious and entrepreneurial individuals to join the new way of delivering legal services — without the billable hour. Successful candidate(s) must have a portable book of business of $200,000 +/year in the areas of intellectual property, and/or transactions involving innovation and technology.

Technical Advisor Internship
Advent is looking for curious and entrepreneurial engineering students to join its team of technical experts. Specifically, Advent seeks individuals working on their B.S. or M.S. in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or computer engineering that are interested in exploring the dynamic world of patent law. Advent is committed to developing the next generation of patent practitioners and will invest in an intern’s potential development into the role of Patent Agent.
Qualified candidate requirements:
Working on B.S. or M.S. in electrical, mechanical, chemical or computer engineering and have completed the equivalent of at least 2.5 hours of course work in candidate’s degree area
Top 25% of class (or 3.5 or greater GPA)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with computer aided drafting/modeling programs, e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, especially 3D modeling (preferred)
Curiosity to learn technologies outside of field of study (preferred); and
Ability to work in Advent’s offices in Omaha, Nebraska.
